Paragliding, airborne thrills, flying with the champions!
It is no idle boast to call Val di Fassa the home of free flying. Here flying is possible all year round, taking off from one mountain rather than another, according to the season. Val di Fassa is the birthplace of Jimmy Pacher, paragliding world champion and national instructor, who opened a qualified school in Canazei using two-seater paragliders for tourism and flying approaching courses. Along with an instructor, you can break free into flight too, achieving the dream of flying over the peaks of Val di Fassa, enjoying an absolutely unique view.

Climbing up and down, making mistakes and trying again to find the right way to reach the top, in a continuous tension between the body and the mind: this is the thrill of the free climbing, that can be practiced at the two climbing halls that in Val di Fassa are open all year round.

Walk, trot, canter or gallop. Everybody at his own speed. The green meadows of the Val di Fassa, as well as its woods of firs, pines and larches, ant the paths flanking the rocks and the Avisio stream are ideal for the expert riders who want to enjoy a horseback riding tour in the nature. And if you have never ride a horse before, do not worry, you can count on the preparation of the owners of the local ranches.

Have you ever come up with the idea of walking through a snow-clad forest just skimming the flakes with your snowshoes, leaving a trace behind you? It is an unforgettable sensation, the infinite memory of a moment of perfect harmony between you and nature, following the tracks of wild animals. It is the discovery of the ancient charm of an unguarded mountain hut, where the scent of ancient times enhance your relaxation. Hey, shall we go tomorrow?

By the ice stadium "Gianmario Scola" in Alba di Canazei, there is a wonderful rink available both for beginners and for those who, instead, are ready to perform twirls and arabesques on the edge to the rhythm of music.

Skiing in the Dolomites

Located just 400m from our hotel Aurora, the Ciampac ski zone is a large, sun-drenched valley that is directly connected to the Buffaure di Pozza Ski Area. It is ideal for families, since it includes some relatively easy pistes and an excellent playpark, but is renowned above all for the black run, one of the steepest and most challenging in the entire valley.

In addition, thanks to the ski bus service (the stop is just 100m from the hotel), it is also possible to access the Belvedere-Col Rodella Ski Area, as well as the SellaRonda – the famous Four Passes (‘Quattro Passi’) route, which makes its way down and around the Sella mountain range, linking all of the main Dolomite valleys.

Once you have returned to the hotel, placed your skis in the heated ski store (which even features a ski-boot heater), you can relax and pamper yourself in the natural warmth of our health spa…in preparation for another day of fun, snow and all the skiing you could want.
